We couldn't help but be captivated by the narrow, winding streets of Dubrovnik Old Town. As we walked along the well-preserved medieval walls, we marveled at the stone buildings, picturesque squares, and vibrant shops lining the streets. The Old Town feels like a journey through history with its charming blend of Venetian, Gothic, and Baroque architecture. The Stradun, the main street, is particularly enchanting, with its polished limestone making it shine brightly in the sun.

Opening Hours & Ticket Prices: The Old Town itself is open year-round and free to explore. However, we recommend visiting the city walls, which are a major highlight. The walls are open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and tickets cost around 200 HRK ($30 USD) for adults. We suggest taking a walk along the walls to get panoramic views of the Old Town and the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.

Discovering Fort Lovrijenac

While exploring the Old Town, we also made sure to visit Fort Lovrijenac, a stunning fortress overlooking the sea. After exploring the historical sites, we were ready to try some of Dubrovnik's local cuisine. We headed to a charming café in the Old Town and tried a delicious black risotto made with cuttlefish and squid ink. The dish was flavorful and perfectly complemented with a side of fresh, crusty bread. The price for this dish was about 70 HRK ($10 USD), which we found to be quite reasonable considering the quality.

Another local favorite is grilled fish, often served with seasonal vegetables. We loved how the fish was light, fresh, and seasoned with olive oil and herbs. This dish usually costs around 90 HRK ($13 USD) and is a must-try if you're a seafood lover.
